Paws of Comfort Program

What is the Paws of Comfort Program?

Many dogs are being surrendered to shelters by their owners. There is also a growing number of Canines that do not sell quickly from breeders.  Puppies that are over three months of age can be harder to sell. In some cases, the breeder may surrender their unsold puppies to shelters or rescues for rehabilitation. However, many shelters and rescues are overpopulated with dogs in need, and many are turned away.

At the same time, some people are in desperate need of an Emotional Support Animal. These dogs can offer Companionship, Comfort, Emotional support and help with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

ESAs are not considered service animals, therapy animals, or pets, and they are not trained to perform specific tasks related to a person's disability. Instead, owners may feel a sense of calm, security, and well-being from the dog's presence.

Our focus is to rehome dogs as ESAs.
