Paws of Comfort Program

**What Is the Paws of Comfort Program?**

We provide Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) to retired or disabled veterans and others who seek comfort and assistance while facing emotional or psychological challenges. An ESA will help reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Currently, many dogs are being surrendered to shelters by their owners, and an increasing number of puppies are not selling quickly from breeders. In some instances, breeders may surrender their unsold puppies to shelters or rescues for rehabilitation. Unfortunately, many shelters and rescues are overwhelmed with the number of dogs in need and are unable to take in additional animals..

At the same time, there are individuals who desperately need an Emotional Support Animal (ESA). These dogs can provide companionship, comfort, and emotional support, particularly for those experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

It's important to note that ESAs are not considered service animals, therapy animals, or pets, and they are not trained to perform specific tasks related to a person's disability. Instead, they offer a sense of calm, security, and overall well-being through their presence.

Our primary goal is to rehome dogs as Emotional Support Animals.
